Each year the PEN: Writers in
Translation project supports between six and eight books that are translated
from a wide variety of foreign languages. The aim is to celebrate books of
outstanding literary value, dedication to free speech and intercultural
understanding.

for via the European Union. There are two deadlines every calendar year: 1
April and 1 October.
